One of the keys to making nice wood-hinge boxes is getting the dowel segments to line up perfectly. To do that you need dead-on 90 degree cuts which are clean and free of tear-out.
Enter my Wood Hinge Bench Hook. Coupled with my , this enables you to cut those prefect dowel segments. The grooves in the fences hold your dowel firmly while you saw and creates a zero-clearance effect giving you tear-out free cuts
One fence is grooved for a 1/4 inch dowel and the other fence is grooved for a 3/8 inch dowel, the two most commonly used dowel sizes for my wood hinge boxes. Each fence doubles as a cleat to hold the bench hook against your workbench as you saw.
